Puget Sound Express hauled out their vessel, Glacier Spirit, at Port Townsend Shipwrights Co-op for annual maintenance. They will be back in the water for December’s festive Christmas Tours to Seattle and the Christmas Ship Parade. Each time the vessel is hauled into the shop, it just barely fits. Last week the owner, Pete Hanke, was recalling in 2005 when Shipwrights Co-op removed, rebuilt and reinstalled the engines for Glacier Spirit. Watching Julian Arthur operate his crane to lift and lower the engines through the boat house was a large scale project that went smoothly. Currently, Project Manager, Rick Brendan is having a drive line tune-up completed while the house gets an LP paint job. Puget Sound Express’s crew member, Trevor, assisted with sanding the hull and maintaining rudder parts. David Vane of The Drawing Board, Inc. is finishing up the lettering now that the hull paint job is complete.

As 2021 comes to a close and we reflect on this year, we would like to thank everyone for all the support during another unusual year. This year marks our 40th-anniversary of repairing, constructing, and maintaining all types of boats. We’ve come quite a ways from building our original
