Insequent came to Port Townsend Shipwrights Co-op last fall. Many exciting changes have been made to this 50 foot Ocean Alexander. The engine room in particular has changed quite a bit with a complete mechanical and electrical refit. There are two new John Deere engines, all tankage in the vessel replaced, a generator removed and replaced by a large battery bank. The batteries are to be recharged from the newly installed solar panels on the bimini top. With DC power, Insequent is a kind of hybrid, using an inverter to convert battery power to useable electricity at times when the vessel is not connected to shore power at a dock. As well, all domestic water systems have been replaced, a new sanitation system, new water maker, and a completely redesigned hydronic heating system for efficiency. Insequent will soon be ready for it’s owner Brian Gibson to take off on some long range cruising. Project Managers Chris Brignoli and Todd Lee have said how nice it has been to work with Brian and look forward to hearing about his adventures beyond.
