Mary and Bruce purchased this 1940 built wooden fishing vessel in May and hauled her out a few weeks later to prepare the vessel for salmon tendering in Alaska.  Bruce named the vessel Mary K, after his wife Mary.  Bruce has fished before, yet this will be Mary’s first boat.  Jerry is their business partner and his son will work on the boat as well. They are contracted with Peter Pan fishery to begin by late June.  With many boat repairs needed before launch,  the shipwrights have been working fast and furious to accomplish a great deal in a short time.  Clint’s crew and the Port Townsend Shipwrights Co-op are both working on this large vessel.  Jim Lyons, Project Manager, and his team have been building and installing the rim log and replacing planks in the stern.   Mary, family, and friends have also been getting their hands dirty, painting and caulking the hull.  This family endeavor is an exciting new adventure.  The vessel is still bustling with shipwrights, with plans to launch today.
